All About the Bridesmaids Week! – Best Bridesmaids Tips
So naturally, after our “All About the Bride” Week, we had to talk about bridesmaids too!
Being a bridesmaid can be a tricky position to fill. It’s a lot of pressure when you want to make your friend or family member happy on one of the biggest days of her life! 3 weeks after my wedding, I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in my Maid of Honor’s beautiful wedding. From that experience, and from experiences I’ve witnessed, here are a few tips for any bridesmaid!
1. It’s a commitment!
Accepting to be a bridesmaid, especially a Maid of Honor, comes with the acceptance of a lot of commitments, including dress fittings, showers, and other activities the bride might wish her bridesmaids to be a part of – not to mention the financial commitment. Not attending these activities may really let the bride down, and if you really feel like you cannot fulfill the commitment, then it is best to politely decline in person as soon as possible. If you do accept, make sure there is clear communication between the bride and the bridesmaids about time and financial responsibilities.

2. Be involved!
Krista over at Bayside Bride is a perfect example of an involved MOH when she made bride Natalie this beautiful ring bearer pillow! Now, I’m not saying every bridesmaid has to whip out her DIY skills and create spectacular gifts, but make sure you are involved in the process, especially if the bride asks. Wrapping favors or tying ribbons on 300 invitations might not seem like a good time to you, nor is it a requirement for any bridesmaid to do, but if possible, be involved in the process in any way possible. Planning a wedding is a huge task, and having her friends by her side is a great relief to any bride.

3. Smile!
It’s the day of the wedding, and okay, you don’t love how you look in strapless dresses, and green does nothing for your skin tone, but remember that the bride chose you to be by her side on this important day. Being there for her is what is important on the wedding day, so smile and remember how special this day is for everyone!
