Untraditional Trend: White Bridesmaids’ Dresses
In the wake of Kim Kardashian’s wedding, everyone had a lot to talk about. The dresses! The headpiece! The diamonds! The TV cameras!
But the main thing that stood out to me were the gorgeous white bridesmaid’s dresses Kim had her sisters wear.
I’ve been saying it for months now…I LOVE white bridesmaids dresses! But someone other than the bride dressed in white?! The horror!!
Actually, tradition was to have all the bridesmaids wear similar outfits to the bride (including veils!) so as to confuse evil spirits. I’m not quite sure where the tradition took a turn, but having a row of white dresses is coming back in style.
Typically when I express my love for white frocks, I hear the same thing, “But then the bride won’t stand out!” Well here are a few ways to make the white bridesmaid dress trend work.
1) If you’re concerned about standing out, opt for a shorter length for bridesmaids to contrast with a long wedding dress.

2) Choose a bridesmaids dress that has a contrasting neckline to your wedding dress.

3) Mix up styles, patterns, and shades of white and cream.

4) If you don’t think you can commit to the fully white palette, add in a pop of color!

There are so many ways to try out this trend, so don’t be afraid to embrace it! Remember: the bride always steals the show!
